The Waterfall Within - Everything Is Connected
Ayurveda, Chronic Fatigue, and the Long Road Back After Long COVID
The Waterfall Within: Why I Wrote This
Since launching my Panchakarma therapy program, I’ve received a steady stream of messages from people carrying Long COVID or chronic fatigue — some looking for support, many telling me they’d been quietly inspired by my own story of recovery. And it’s brought up a question I want to answer properly: should someone in this state start straight into a Panchakarma?
The honest answer is: not always, and often not yet. Not because Panchakarma doesn’t work — but because of what it actually demands of a body that has nothing left to spend. I wrote a full article to explain why, and what I believe needs to happen first.
Here’s what’s inside the full article:
Two Conditions, One Underlying Pattern — What chronic fatigue and Long COVID actually are, medically: the hallmark symptom most people have never heard of (post-exertional malaise), why diagnosis takes so long, and why modern medicine — for all it gets right — reaches a limit at “root cause.”
How Ayurveda Reads These Conditions — Agni, Ama, and Ojas: the three concepts that reframe chronic fatigue and Long COVID as something far more specific than “being tired.”
The Dhatus: Mapping How Deep the Depletion Goes — the heart of the piece. A visual, tissue-by-tissue map (I built it as a table) showing how depletion cascades through the body like a waterfall — and why two people with an identical diagnosis can be standing at completely different depths of the same cascade.
Treating the Root, Not Just the Symptom — why pushing an already-depleted body into an intense cleanse or Panchakarma too early can trigger the exact crash we’re trying to prevent, and what has to be rebuilt first, before that kind of therapy is appropriate.
The Quiet Obstacle: A Disturbed Sense of Self-Trust — something I see in almost every client with long-standing fatigue: either they’ve dismissed every approach after over-researching, or they’ve lost trust in their own body’s capacity to heal at all. This gets addressed before anything else can.
If any of this sounds familiar — the naps that swallow entire afternoons, the fog, the sense that your body has quietly stopped cooperating with your life — I think this one’s worth the full read.
